Project to diagnose malaria through the mobile at the MWC
Feb 25, 2024
Researchers from the Department of Physics participate in the Mobile World Conference in the presentation of an application to diagnose malaria.
The project consists of an app to diagnose malaria using artificial intelligence methods. The combination of a mobile application with a low-cost robotic microscope allows access to a low-cost diagnosis. It has been designed to be a useful and effective method in countries with few resources, which is where this disease is endemic, and the research groups in Computational Biology and Complex Systems (BIOCOM-UPC), Image Processing participate in the design and Video (GPI) and Database Technologies and Information Management (DTMI) of the UPC.
