Welcome to UPC's Department of Physics.

The Department of Physics (DFIS) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya was created on 8 October 2015, from the coming together of the previous Departments of Applied Physics (DFA) and Nuclear Physics and Engineering (DFEN) and the aerospace engineering faculty from the Castelldefels and Terrassa campuses.

DFIS is thus formed by faculty from three specific areas: Physics, Nuclear Engineering and Aerospace Engineering. Each of these areas can be found represented and differentiated at the department website, still under construction. Meanwhile, the former DFA and DFEN websites continue to be operational, temporarily containing the information about the departments' teaching and research activities. We will soon proceed to the migration of content to the DFIS website and its corresponding updating.
