“Topology in strongly interacting dipolar fermions”
Abstract
In this talk, I will discuss how ultracold dipolar fermionic systems can provide access to unconventional regimes of strongly correlated quantum matter. I will first show how mixtures of magnetic atoms in optical lattices can realize an extended t-J model beyond conventional Hubbard physics, where topology and superconductivity can coexist [1]. I will then turn to a single-component configuration and discuss how attractive dipolar interactions can give rise to Majorana edge signatures beyond the conventional paradigm of topological superconductors [2]. Finally, I will consider a ladder geometry and show how temperature can itself become a resource for inducing effective topological features, even in the absence of topology in the zero temperature ground state [3]. These results highlight the rich possibilities offered by ultracold dipolar systems for investigating unconventional topological phenomena
